Fugro's Direct
Push Technology (DPT) units are hydraulically powered, percussion/probing
machines designed to drive small diameter sampling tools directly into the
subsurface without the production of Investigation-Derived Wastes (IDW). The
tools are advanced by static hydraulic force coupled with a percussion
hammer.
This advancement system is typically capable of pushing
sampling tools at a penetration rate of 5 feet or more per minute, and typically
to depths between 30 to 60 feet. Under optimal soil conditions, depths in excess
of 100 feet have been reached. With van, 4 wheel drive, and all-terrain vehicle
DPT units, Fugro can easily access most sites.
Fugro's DPT units are
capable of collecting soil, groundwater and soil-gas samples. Small diameter
wells and piezometers can also be installed. Additionally, our DPT units can
deploy Fugro's Rapid Optical Screening Tools (ROST™& MIP Systems) which provides real-time, in-situ
delineation of petroleum hydrocarbons and
VOCs.
